Fundraising

We support a variety of non-profit organizations through the Coins that Count® consumer donation program. Though we cannot list every interested organization in the on-machine donation program we have an alternative program to aid organizations in their coin-based fundraising efforts.

Organizations enrolled in the Coins that Count program pay a reduced fee of 7.5%. We offer the same reduced fee to all qualified 501(c) 3 non-profit organizations. To qualify for this 2.3% fee rebate an organization must:

Requirements

Coinstar is proud to offer a reduced fee of 7.5% to qualified 501(c) 3 non-profit organizations. To qualify for this 2.3% fee rebate an organization must:

  • Process at least $1,500 in coins, resulting in a minimum rebate value of approximately $35.
  • Fill out and submit the Fee Rebate Form (PDF format), available for download below.
  • A copy of the IRS letter stating registered 501(c) 3 status.
  • Photocopies of cash vouchers from the Coinstar Center.

You may submit several voucher copies at once totaling at least $1500, however these vouchers must reflect transactions occurring during a three-month period. Copies of vouchers more than three months old will not be considered for rebate.

Please note: Cash vouchers must be redeemed in-store on the day issued.

Requests will be processed in 4-6 weeks. Checks will be made payable and sent directly to the non-profit organization. All rebates are subject to Coinstar review and approval.

If your organization is planning to use a Coinstar Center to process a large coin drive of several thousand dollars or more, we would like to know about it ahead of time so that we may prepare our machines for the volume of your transaction.
