Massachusetts – The Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center (CIVOC), is proud to announce they have become a Charity Partner in the Coinstar Coins that Count® charity program. Beginning September 9th individuals will be able to support veterans in their communities by donating spare change at no cost at many major retail locations. Coinstar kiosks, best known for converting coins to cash at convenient grocery and other retail locations, have a donation option that allows consumers to donate their change to charities year-round with no fee.

“As we approach the giving season, we want to thank our customers who continue to give generously at our Coinstar kiosk locations across the region,” said Jim Gaherity, CEO of Coinstar. “Spare change can add up to significant amounts to benefit our charity partners. The power of the penny should not be overlooked when it comes to meaningful fundraising and supporting veterans in need.”

Since the inception of the Coinstar donation option in 2006, consumers have donated more than $70 million to benefit non-profit organizations. Consumers can find Coinstar kiosk locations accepting donations by visiting Coinstar.com.

“We are grateful that Coinstar makes it easy for anyone to donate their spare change in support of veterans in our communities,” said Joe Taylor, CIVOC Executive Director. “Small contributions are the backbone of our organization and now you can easily make a donation at one of the over 20 Coinstar kiosks across the Cape and Islands, including at area Stop and Shop, Shaw’s and Walmart locations.”

Since 1983, the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center is the only nonprofit veterans outreach center for the Cape and the Islands specializing in addressing Housing Assistance and Homelessness Prevention, Mental Health Support, and Food Insecurity. The Center also provides veterans access to partner agencies and services outside of our core focuses.

No veteran is left behind to fight their personal battle alone.
